Here’s the intro for SMASH FEST 1: the month-long series of surf film and art events that will span the New York area from Brooklyn to Montauk beginning July 13th. Johnny Knapp, flip flops in the city and all, lights up Broadway under the JMZ train in this charming Saturday Night Fever homage. SMASH FEST 1 is the first profit sharing surf film festival for independent surf filmmakers so check out some movies to help support the creators.
A New Englander through and through, Drew grew up in Connecticut / New Hampshire and got over educated in Boston. He also lived on a beach in Southern California for some years. Film, photography, music and literature monopolize his time these days. Drew lives in Brooklyn, NY, eats too many cheeseburgers at the Commodore and hopes to carry on simply one day on a big piece of land by the sea without the computer or YouTube.
