With the year at an end, there is much time for reflection and a lot of “best of”awards and recaps. One of the most stunning and inspiring of these is the annual National Geographic photo contest. I don’t know how they can possibly judge something as subjective as this, especially with upwards of 20,000 images to choose from all over the world. Here are some of our favorites along with the winning photo of a dragonfly in a rainstorm in Indonesia, taken by Shikhei Goh, who was awarded $10,000 and a trip to the National Geographic Photography Seminar next year.
A goofy-footed graphic designer who hails from the first state, Delaware. After attending Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL then graduating from SCAD in Savannah, GA with a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration, Matt moved to NYC and found work as a freelance designer and art director. In 2006 he moved west to Venice, CA where he co-founded ITAL/C Studio and now resides a bit further north in Oxnard.
