The Adobe Illustrator Story

Here is a great short documentary on the genesis of quite possibly the most revolutionary tool in the history of design. Going digital was a huge deal to everyone in the design and commercial art world, I personally cannot even image what it was like to have to be part of the group to make that transition in my design process. Since 1987, Adobe now has a whole slew of design products that make everything you see out in the world possible – from book, magazines, ads, websites, commercials, movies, you name it. As its founder states though, his products don’t give everyone the power to be a good designer, he only makes the tools. The creativity itself exists in the designer, there is no computer program that can replace that.
