Bon Iver – “Holocene”

Music video budgets aren’t what they used to be some 10 years ago; nor will they ever be, sadly. You wouldn’t believe me if I told you how little the latest Gondry/Björk video production budget was. Despite the fiscal restraints, director Nabil Elderkin finds a way to make the video for Bon Iver’s “Holocene” beautiful and engaging with a simple concept of young boy exploring his backyard. The boy’s backyard is not your average backyard though; it’s Iceland, with vistas and wonder to be found between every rock.

Drew Innis

A New Englander through and through, Drew grew up in Connecticut / New Hampshire and got over educated in Boston. He also lived on a beach in Southern California for some years. Film, photography, music and literature monopolize his time these days. Drew lives in Brooklyn, NY, eats too many cheeseburgers at the Commodore and hopes to carry on simply one day on a big piece of land by the sea without the computer or YouTube.
