Carissa Moore Named Adventurer Of The Year

For the surf world, 2011 seemed to be the year that coverage of our “sport” started to really get mainstream recognition. Kelly Slater became the youngest and oldest surfer to win world titles, which led to him being recognized in the media as being one of the most dominant professional athletes across all sports. Now Women’s World Champ Carissa Moore was honored in National Geographic’s Top 10 Adventurers of the Year for 2011. She was the only surfer to make the list.
