Iceland

On a recent trip to Sweden, I had a layover in Keflavík Airport in Iceland, which is close to – or basically in Reykjavik, an area that boasts some of the most beautiful and chilly pointbreaks in the world. I was unaware of the proximity to waves, but the flight in was breath-taking, landing on the edge of a massive ice glacier. Coinciding with my brief visit, Surfline has just posted this Tripwire story of one man’s surfing adventure in Iceland. Eoin McCarthy recounts his travels and gives us a stunning, wintery glimpse into surfing’s final frontier. Definitely looks like Iceland is worth more than a layover next time!
