Elements of Design

While digging around for a little motion design inspiration, I stumbled across this beauty by Matt Greenwood. It is a short, simple representation of the fundamental elements of design set to motion and music. Line, plane, rhythm, balance, scale, texture, framing, grid, color, transparency, layers, symmetry, pattern, negative space, point, rules, randomness, contrast, composition, type, harmony, tension, movement. One element flows seamlessly into the next. Is design a science, or do we just move things around until they feel right?
