In the 90s Patagonia helped change the apparel industry with its organic cotton initiatives and it will now aim to reform the fishing industry by leading the way in sustainable fishing practices. Wild salmon stocks in British Columbia have been dwindling under the pressure of indiscriminate commercial fisheries and unsustainable fish-farming practices. Patagonia hopes to bring change by purchasing only selectively harvested wild salmon from The First Nations of British Columbia for its new line of Provisions Wild Salmon Jerky.
