RIP Sean Collins

San Diego Surf

Surfline founder, president and chief forecaster, Sean Collins, passed away yesterday in Orange County, California after suffering a fatal heart attack. He was 59. Collins was without a doubt one of the most influential people in contemporary surfing. His scientific knowledge of weather and waves combined with his first hand experience of the ocean as a surfer and sailor, made his ability as a surf forecaster unparalleled. All of us who scour the earth for perfect waves, wind and tide will be forever indebted.

Drew Innis

A New Englander through and through, Drew grew up in Connecticut / New Hampshire and got over educated in Boston. He also lived on a beach in Southern California for some years. Film, photography, music and literature monopolize his time these days. Drew lives in Brooklyn, NY, eats too many cheeseburgers at the Commodore and hopes to carry on simply one day on a big piece of land by the sea without the computer or YouTube.
