Matthew graduated from SFSU (San Francisco State) with an MFA in Fiction. While in school, Matthew launched the editorial department at Huckberry.com, and after graduation, he swapped coasts to work as a Managing Editor at Gear Patrol in New York City. In 2017, he left the magazine world to create content marketing for outdoor, style and lifestyle brands, and he made his way back to the West Coast, settling in Los Angeles.
